Introduction
So you
want advice about your hair loss with a view to embarking on some form
of treatment? Your first port of call must be with
your doctor. By all means, do your own research. This website is a great
place to start! The more information you have the better
informed choice you will make and the more questions you can ask to
arrive at a personally suited conclusion.
Following
a doctor's visit your situation could be resolved. If not, he may be
able to refer you to a specialist. That professional could be a Trichologist
or a dermatologist
Unfortunately,
in most places around the globe, anyone can set up a business or a
clinic and call themselves a Trichologist, with no training, no
qualification and no experience whatsoever. Caution is advised in this
unregulated medical area. Fortunately, there are a few prominent
self-regulatory organisation's that have tried to address this problem.
In our opinion, these listed below are a good place to start. Click the heading to go to their
website.
REMEMBER
do the research! Find out as much as you can. Read the
relevant bits from this whole site. If you embark on a hair loss program
you may be paying for treatment for the rest of your life, so choose
wisely.

The American
Academy of Dermatology

dermatological association, with a membership of thousands of physicians
worldwide. It says it is committed to, amongst other things, advancing
the diagnosis and medical, surgical and cosmetic treatment of the skin,
hair and nails and supporting and enhancing patient care for a lifetime
